We got this Delonghi convection toaster oven 8 months ago (at Dillards), and it still works as well as it did out of the box. We didn't get it for a toaster, although this does do a great job with garlic bread. Our concern was for getting a small oven that could handle baking (pies, bundt cakes, smaller cobblers, cookies, fish, chicken, pizzas, etc...), broiling (mainly fish & chicken) and heating/reheating foods.
Well, the Delonghi DO1289 does a great job for our needs. Pizza's come out great (no surprise there), but also bakes everything else very well. The heaviest dish I've put into this oven has been an 8" x 8" x 2" square glass dish, while baking a berry cobbler...it was rather heavy and noticed the rack get a little weighed down, but no accidents. I just had to be a little careful with pulling the rack out, when I removed the cobbler. Heating is very even.
We've enjoyed this little oven so much, that now the microwave is only a laundry appliance. (no joke...it's now used for microwavable corn or rice filled heating pads, and sits on top of the dryer) Reheating and heating foods take longer than using a microwave, but they taste so much better! Not to mention, microwave heating alters foods, and the Delonghi offers a healthier alternative. This oven gets used even more than our larger one (and even it's not ignored). We'll often use this appliance along with our large oven, when we need to bake more than the general oven can hold... like 3 pies... 2 go in our regular oven and the 3rd goes in the Delonghi.
I'd definitely recommend the Delonghi DO1289 to anyone looking for a nice compact and reliable oven. It does a great job and at a decent price.
