I purchased this toaster because I was in the market specifically for a toaster with two long, wide, deep slots because the items I toast often have irregular shapes. If you have looked for such a toaster you probably know there are not many on the market. I've used this toaster for over two weeks now and I am very pleased. It does what it is supposed to do, toast bread evenly and dependably. It is solidly built and well thought out. I have every reason to expect it to have a long operating life.

DeLonghi CT-54 two extra wide, extra long toast loading slots work with self adjusting grips to center bread for precise double sided toasting.Good looks don't lie with this chrome 4-slice toaster from DeLonghi. The toaster's high-tech design and versatile options make it as functional as it is handsome. Engineered for consistency, the toaster features an electronic sensor that gauges the internal temperature and adjusts cooking time accordingly. You get perfectly consistent toast, whether you're cooking for one or for a crowd. The toaster features a six-level adjustable browning dial for standard toasting, as well as defrost and bagel settings. The bagel function directs 70 percent of the heat to the cut side of the bagel and 30 percent to the crust. You can also cancel any function midcycle. The toaster's extra-wide slots handle four slices at a time, with self-centering bread grips and an extra-high lift lever for removing finished toast. Handy details include illuminated function buttons, a dishwasher-safe crumb tray, and hidden cord storage beneath the toaster's base.
