Customer Review: Best thing next to a burr grinder

I've had this grinder going on 5 years and have never had a problem with it. Yes, you have to hold the button down, but its easily done while wrapping your hand around the whole unit. It gets fresh beans to a coarse grind in under 10 seconds. Another 10, and you're at espresso fine. The cup has measurement indicators on the side which are nice. I've used the espresso grind in one of the mass-market espresso machines pretty often, and its just fine for home use. I just started getting into french press makers, so I now also stop just before the coarse light comes on (about 8 seconds) for the right grind, and it works just great. I still may get a burr grinder, but only because I'm curious and getting into the press pot big time now. Highly recommend them.
People complain of this grinder making a mess. I'm not sure how. The whole machine is small enough with an ergonomic design for gripping, that I just turn it over and pour the grinds directly into the brewer's filter, or into a sealed container for later use. To make sure all the grinds comeout, I just smack the whole thing down on the counter two times, all of it loosens up, and out it comes. Been doing that for 4 years, and its held up just fine.

This sleek coffee grinder features a 2.36 capacity, grinding enough beans for up to 12 cups of coffee. You have full control with a grind selector for coarse, medium, or fine grounds. Manufacturer's 1-year warranty.With a capacity of 2.36 ounces, this sleek machine employs stainless-steel blades to grind enough coffee beans for brewing up to twelve 5-ounce cups of percolator, drip, or espresso coffee. The grinder can be filled with beans and the amount of beans it grinds can be selected with a dial that's calibrated by number of cups desired: 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12. During operation, lights above the on/off button flash on the grind selector, indicating when the grind is coarse, medium, or fine, permitting the grinder to be shut off when the desired grind is achieved. The grind selector displays the words "coarse," "medium," and "fine" along with the brewing method appropriate for each grind: respectively, "perc" (percolator), "drip," and "espresso." Clad in gleaming black plastic with matte silver accents, the hourglass-shaped grinder is thoroughly contemporary in appearance and has a rubberized grip and push-in cord storage.
