... but here's something else great we think we may have forgotten to mention about this DeLonghi DK100 retro kettle ::: the handy feature which allows the user to wrap any unneeded cord length *underneath and inside the base*.Not usually oughta-be-a-law types here, but we honestly think there OUGHTA be a law mandating this feature for all countertop electrical appliances. It's neither a complex nor a super-expensive idea, and on every other appliance we have we can see it COULD have been added rather easily by the manufacturers.
When one has an entire kitchen countertop or kitchen island full of small appliances with all the cords hanging about unnecessarily & tangling up, the wrap-around-&-hide feature isn't merely a convenience, it's a true safety measure. Well at least we don't have to worry about the DeLonghi DK100's cord adding to the mess!

Coffee is the stimulant (and opiate) for the masses. Tea on the other hand is for the discriminating individual whose tastes are distinguished from the norms of society. Whether medicinal infusions to aromatic delights brewing tea requires the right temperature timing and balanceFor tea, instant coffee, soup, oatmeal, or hot chocolate, this cordless electric kettle brings 7 cups of water to the boil in minutes. Shaped like an upside-down acorn, the kettle is a real beauty. The silver, enamel-like exterior glitters and resists scratching, and the stainless-steel top and spout are polished to a mirror finish. The matte-finish handle with a shiny inset and a ball-shaped, matte-finish knob atop the lid, as well as the power base are all black plastic to complete the updated-retro look. To provide 360-degree access, the kettle fits onto the power base in any position. With indicator lights on both sides, it suits left-handers and right-handers equally well. For safety, the handle stays cool and the kettle shuts off automatically when water boils or the kettle runs dry. A removable, washable filter captures loose pieces of scale. Made in Italy, the kettle stands 10-1/2 inches high on the power base, which has a cord-wrap underneath, and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
