An adjustable thermostat permits brewing to be set anywhere from light to strong and also varies the warming temperature when the brewing process is complete and the percolator automatically switches to keep-warm mode. Lights signal when power is on and when brewing is complete. A real beauty, the percolator is made of stainless steel with a matte-finish body. A band around the top and the spout are polished to a mirror finish. The handle, a band on the bottom, the power base, and the ball-shaped knob atop the plastic lid (which is transparent for monitoring the brewing process) are all matte-finish black plastic to complete the updated retro look.
To provide 360-degree access, the 1,000-watt percolator fits onto the power base in any position. The stainless-steel works inside--coffee basket, pump tube, and spring--are dishwasher-safe. Made in Italy, the percolator stands 9-1/2 inches high on the power base, which has a cord-wrap underneath, and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
