Customer Review: Generally a Very Good Oven

This oven has an attractive, modern appearance, a streamlined design that makes efficient use of space. Another plus is that it heats very quickly and evenly (for example, slices of bread placed near the back of the oven heat the same as those placed near the front). The controls operate smoothly, with easy-to-read temperature settings. One nice feature is that, with this toaster, you are able to re-run toast settings even when the toaster is hot. With other toaster ovens, after you've toasted on a certain setting (light, medium, dark, etc.) and you try to put it back on again right away, the toaster keeps popping off, and you have to wait for the oven to cool down before you can start it again. This is because other toasters use a temperature gauge to determine whether toasting is done -- as long as the toaster is at a certain temperature setting, it won't let you toast again. It seems that DeLonghi found a simple solution to this problem: you can start it right up again, even if the oven is still red hot, because it runs on a timer instead of a temperature gauge.The only negative comment I have about this oven is that it is difficult to clean. For some reason, the designers chose to have a tray at the bottom that doesn't detach from the oven (it opens out on a hinge). So, to clean it out, you have to either dump the crumbs onto your counter top, or carry the whole toaster oven over to the garbage. This is relatively minor, since the oven functions so nicely, but it is something the company should probably fix in future models.
